The Globe & Mail called our theatre work “witheringly funny and dapperly executed.” The Toronto Star said that our theatre writing was “filled with a zest and good humour that is impossible to resist.” CBC host Peter Gzowski said "my favourite performers, like New Yorker cartoons brought to life."
Our award-winning corporate work and documentary work has been equally well received. We helped set audience approval records for many large corporate events.

- Sears & Switzer Productions produced theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Pears Cabaret, Upstairs at Old Angelo's, Adelaide Court Theatre, Summerstage, Tarragon Theatre Extraspace, Toronto Fringe, the Berkeley Street Theatre, for various dinner theatres, and in tours across Canada, USA, UK, Japan, etc.

We train performers: “Acting classes that work, for actors who want to work”
Sears & Switzer have trained actors since 1978. Theresa Sears and David Switzer have worked with some of the best, busiest and most interesting professional actors in Canada.
We specialized in short-term, high-impact workshops in film, theatre, television, voice and audition technique.
Cinematheque Canada called us the “most sought-after acting coaches in Canada”.
We were first engaged by Canadian Actors Equity to develop on-camera training for stage performers. We have been guest artists for Ryerson Theatre School [TMU], University of Toronto, York University, Queens' University, University of Manitoba, Brock University and for many colleges across Canada. We led workshops for Theatre Ontario, Theatre Alberta, the Conference for Drama Education [CODE], Canadian Child and Youth Drama Association [CCYDA], the National Screen Institute, and the Summer Institute for Film and Television [SIFT].
We opened our studio in Toronto at 58 Stewart Street in 1978 and we moved to the YTV lot at 64 Jefferson Avenue in 1992. From 2002 until 2015 we ran our own theatre/studio space at 626 King Street West.
We continue to bring those training skills to anyone who needs to present a message. We have coached staff, hosts, and reporters at CBC, CTV, Fox, City-TV, TSN, CNN, Global TV, and TVO.
We have helped develop presentation and interview skills for many individuals in a wide range of fields. Our corporate clients have ranged from cabinet-level politicians to Fortune 500 CEO’s, from athletes to engineers, and from Supreme Court litigators to management consultants.
